STEAM DAY WAS LOTS OF FUN!

Your students had a BLAST this past Thursday at STEAM Day. We traveled to many different activities and experiences, each one better than the next...

Students started the day with taping Principal Sener to the wall for the fundraising of Destination Imagination Team and traveled to many wonderful activities such as Reptiles, bubbles, marshmallow shooters, handmade musical instruments, origami, Cosplay, astronomy, string art, face painting, magician, lasers and more!

A huge thank you to our parent volunteers who helped make this day a major success. It was an amazing day for everyone. The best STEAM day we ever had for sure!

2ND GRADERS PREPARED FLOWER POTS FOR OUR WONDERFUL MOTHERS!

2nd grade had a great time reviewing the plant life cycle, while also creating flower pots for our wonderful mothers. The students decorated the pots themselves, and planted their very own flower in the pot using loam soil. We discussed the benefits of loam soil verses sandy soil or clay soil. What a fun and messy hand-on experience! Happy Mother's Day from 2nd Grade!

KINDERGARTEN CLASS BUTTERFLY FUN!

We have had the best time watching our caterpillars turn into butterflies. Today we set our 7 butterflies free! Your students said 'goodbye' to each one as they flew out of our butterfly net. It was an awesome experience to see the life cycle of these butterflies happen right in our very own classroom!

1ST GRADE MOTHERS ENJOYED MUFFINS WITH MOMS

First grade had a terrific time this morning celebrating with our moms at Muffins with Mom. Students had breakfast with their moms and drew portraits of each other. They also gave them some gifts that they had worked on this week. It is so special to see our moms and kids together, and it was a wonderful way to wrap up Mother's Day weekend. We love our moms so much!

LEAF AND TREE STUDY WALK

On Saturday, 2nd May, Elementary Science Olympians studying Leaf and Tree Finders went on a Tree Identification Nature Walk. Kavitha Kuppusamy, Lakshya Jasti, Raaga Ajay and Niyomi Shah spent two hours on Big Creek Greenways with their coach Ms. Doraiswami. They identified and saw the leaves, bark, fruit, seed balls etc. of many trees from their list of 20+ trees including Black Tupelo, Loblolly Pine, American Sweetgum, American Sycamore, Yellow Poplar, River Birch and Red Maple. They ran short races with Avinash on the boardwalk, drank water, took notes, had cookies, saw a green snake whip hrough the water into swamp grass, saw a duck, drake and ducklings swim in the water, saw some bracket fungi and had a lot of fun! Each student had a parent accompany them on the walk and they served as backpack carriers, water bearers and pullers of tall branches!

Leaf and Tree Finders are preparing hard for their State Tournament on May 16th and this Nature Walk helped them get a hands on work for their event. Thank you for putting this together Ms. Przedpelski & Ms. Minor!

FSAPS STUDENTS AND FACULTY PREPARED A FLASH MOB FOR PRINCIPAL SENER ON HIS BIRTHDAY

This is what happens when you have wonderful students and teachers. This Tuesday, May 5th was my birthday and I was called to the main hallway at the end of the morning announcements. I went there not knowing what to expect. It was a big surprise. It's amazing to me that all of the students, faculty, and even my own children kept this a secret right up until it actually happened. I must revisit the confidence I usually feel that I always know what is going on at our school. Haha! This is a birthday I will treasure for the rest of my life. I am very happy to be part of Fulton Science Academy. You made my day. THANK YOU!

THE EPIC FSAPS YARD SALE WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!

A BIG THANK YOU to all of our wonderful parents and faculty who donated items and time to make our yard sale a big success!!!!
We were able to raise $1200 for our Destination Imagination team.

This past week Earth Balloon was at our school. Students visited the Earth Balloon and it was AWESOME!
